Richard Aiken, MD.
Medical Director
Dr. Aiken has served as the Medical Director of Lakeland Behavioral Health System for nearly 30 years. He holds advanced degrees from the University of Illinois and Princeton University, where he earned his Ph.D. He was granted tenure as a faculty member at the University of Utah. After earning his M.D., Dr. Aiken completed his adult psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine.
A prolific author, Dr. Aiken has contributed numerous peer-reviewed articles, textbook chapters, and several books, including one published by Oxford University Press. He has been an invited speaker at academic and professional conferences across the globe.
As Medical Director, Dr. Aiken champions a culture of compassionate care focused on patient safety, emotional well-being, and lasting recovery.
