At Lakeland Behavioral Health System, we want to ensure that every adolescent patient experiences a smooth transition out of treatment and back to their regular life. We offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for those who have completed a higher level of care but can still benefit from a structured therapy schedule.
About Our IOP
Lakeland Behavioral Health System offers two adolescent intensive outpatient programs: one for those ages 8-12, and one for individuals ages 12-17.
Our IOP involves short-term treatment that helps patients gradually reintegrate into their regular home, school, and social settings after completing a higher level of care. A patient can benefit from our IOP if they have a concern such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or trauma.
Our adolescent IOP consists of nine to 12 hours of therapy each week for about four weeks.
Program Features
At Lakeland Behavioral Health System, we provide each patient with the personalized, age-appropriate care they need. We incorporate treatment techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed support into every care plan.
Adolescents in our IOP receive treatment in the form of weekly therapy sessions with our licensed professional counselors. They also participate in daily groups where they can learn about various mental health topics, including trauma, emotion regulation, healthy boundaries, and interpersonal skills.
We ensure that our programming matches the needs of our patients and that adolescents are empowered to play an active part in their healing journey.
